One Man Band - Highway Star

Creator of: www.Socialiife.com. This is my one man band tribute to Highway Star by Deep Purple. Each member of Deep Purple has taught me musical insights that have proven themselves invaluable to me. I attempted to perfect every aspect of this video but still, there are a few mistakes. I left them in for one of two reasons. Either I did not have a take where I executed the passage properly or I just liked it better with the mistake in place. I also write my own material and one of my own songs is now being shot. Yes, it too is hard rock. Play a Musical Instrument

Hello My Friends,

I want to talk about musical instruments. There are two kinds, rythmic: drums, congas, percussion, and more, and melody: piano, guitar, horns, and more. Music is the only art you can hear and see. Music has been around as long as humans have lived. It has lead tribes and built relationships. It has been a lasting relationship to human communication.

Music can strengthen the soul and help dreams come true. It has a power no other creative force has. It will make you think, make you dance and help your mind understand what it has not been able to until you hear it. From Norwegian Wood to You Really Got Me, music has a wide range of feelings. If you are bold enough pick up an instrument and begin to play it. That takes guts, do it it can heal or mend your soul.

Rythmic instruments are a way to set the core of music. Melody instruments tell the story, they decide the tone of what you want to say. You must understand the difference of the instruments to understand.

Pick up an instrument yourself and understand what you want to do. Then take lessons from someone that does understand, and see if it fits you. I believe everyone should do this whether you want to make it a success or just understand the meaning of music. Think for yourself about this. It is a wonderful world, the world of music.

If it does fit your mind, study, study, study, and you will become proficient. The world is yours. Then write words or find a partner that can. Elton John writes the music, while Barry Taupin writes the words. They have been very successful. This is a creative way that has no rules, they change with the times. Be an innovator...! We need you.

Please play an instrument and widen your horizon and your mind, be the best you can!

Play an instrument...!

Joyful Instruments - A Super Fun Bible Memory Verse Activity For Your Preschoolers

Singing joyful songs to God should be on the lips of every Christian at one time or another. So why not teach your preschoolers this wonderful skill at the outset of their lives? Here is a fun Bible memory verse activity for a portion of Psalm 100: which says, "Come before Him with joyful songs." Just follow the directions and have fun.

Here's what you do:

For this activity you will need to find pictures of different instruments. For example, you might pick the piano, violin, harmonica, tuba, guitar and drums. I suggest your pictures are 8" x 10". Laminate the pictures for long-term use. Place all the pictures in a large manila envelope. You might attach a nice label on its front that says "Joyful Instruments." You are now ready to play this Bible memory verse activity.

Tell your preschoolers that they are going to learn a Bible verse that teaches how we should sing joyful songs to God. Ask your class if anyone likes to sing. Wait for responses. Now ask your class if anyone has sung to Jesus. Wait for responses. Read the part of Psalm 100:2 which says, "Come before Him with joyful songs." Tell the children that this means we can sing to God with songs of happiness. Have the children say the verse together several times. Now ask you class if any of them play a musical instrument. Wait for responses. Say to your little ones that inside your envelope you have pictures of some musical instruments. Explain that after each time the class says the Bible memory verse together, you will reveal a portion of the picture by sliding it up out of the envelope. Give the children a chance to guess what the instrument is after each portion is revealed. When the guess is correct, congratulate them on a job well done. Continue to play the same way for each picture.

Difference Between Two Musical Instruments

Introduction

The Epiphone Les Paulis, the 'lite' version of the legendary Gibson Les Paul. It is priced in a more economically friendly manner, and provides starting musicians as well as more experienced ones the ability to experience almost everything the Gibson Les Paul provides, but without the need for an enormous budget.

What's the Difference?

Though most of the differences between the Gibson Les Paul and the Epiphone are negligible to many, seasoned guitar veterans will typically be able to spot almost instantaneously the subtle differences in tone between the two. The Epiphone does not contain Gibson hardware, and though the sounds don't come right out and announce their deviance, the trained ear would easily pick up on this.

Another large difference between the Gibson Les Paul and the Epiphone is in the price of each model mentioned before. The sometimes astronomical gap between the budgets of two fellow musicians is often times unreal, and in providing guitarists with the opportunity to create quality music at nearly half the price for equipment is tantamount to a public service provided by Epiphone.

But I Want A Gibson!

If you are steadfast in your crusade to own a Gibson Les Paul and you have the means to do it, then by all means stick to your guns and purchase one knowing that you are buying the very best guitar in the world. You can brag extensively to all of your friends about the expensive tool you have at your disposal and even occasionally wow them with every little thing that the Gibson Les Paul of legend is capable of. But, if instead you are a touring musician still struggling to make ends meet, blowing a massive wad of cash on one instrument will very likely not be the wisest move considering your finances. The Epiphone is able to provide almost the very same level of quality and at nearly half the price. Wouldn't it be a wiser move to strengthen and consolidate yourself behind a finely crafted tool of your trade that won't leave you bankrupt? That Gibson Les Paul may be pretty, but it's also pretty expensive. Always try and look at the big picture when deciding on this large of an investment.

I Want Options!

Often guitarists are thought of as Samurai. Noble musical warriors wielding their guitars as weapons against whatever angst or emotion being expressed through their music. The are almost Knights, slaying the dragons of our emotional torrents and rescuing figurative princesses with dextrous fingers that glide us forever onward towards victory. Many guitarists identities are so entwined with their instruments, that one wonders if denied the touch of the strings and the weight of the body, some guitar players might simply fade away. If you know you want a Les Paul but are undecided of what type to go with, remember to examine every aspect of what you need from a guitar. Are you a warrior poet as described above, or more of a hulking brute charging forcefully through your music like an angry troll? What if you don't even know what sort of musical persona you represent through your artistry? Take heart, even if you have not yet even began to walk down the path of musical identity you can still figure this out. Try and find a dealer with both the Gibson Les Paul and the Epiphone on site. Show up, plug in, and give each guitar a chance to show you how it blends itself into what you can do as a musician. Listen intently for the small things that would go unnoticed by the casual enthusiast. How does each model feel when grasped between your hands and coursing with the power of sound? Do both of the guitars allow you freedom of movement and accentuate what you as a guitarist are capable of? Perhaps one model does all of these things and one does not, or perhaps your allegiances will be torn when you discover each provides you with several things you want, and you are forced to decide just what it is exactly you value from your instrument. The only way to truly discover whether the Gibson Les Paul or the Epiphone model is for you is to strap each of them across your body and go to work. This is an important decision and one that should not be made lightly. Choose your weapon wisely, musical warrior. You are headed into battle. Huzzah!

Making Beautiful Music With Carbon Fiber-Made Musical Instruments

With carbon fiber in surge of popularity in different areas like in military, engineering, automobile, aerospace and even sporting equipment, the musical industry also wanted to try the material in many applications to get full benefits of the musical instruments where the composite materials were applied.

In a nut shell, carbon fibers are woven together to form a yarn. The fibers are subject to heat and pressure. Each bundle is made up of around three thousand to twelve thousand fibers, depending on the necessity of application. This is turn is woven to create a fabric or textile. Several layers are placed in a mold, coated with resin, and then sealed in a vacuum. The last stage is hardening the composite to shape it in the preferred style, whether the application is for cello, violin, viola or double bass shells.

Compared to musical instruments that are made of wood, these carbon-made instruments create a unique sound. The amplification is different because they produce louder and deeper sound. The sound produced vibrates throughout all the sides, maintaining a full-bodied sound. It is no wonder that this kind of instrument is now popularly used both in solo performances and orchestras world wide! Another plus factor of having this kind of musical instrument is that it has longer life span and has low maintenance. The wood-made instruments are subject to constant wear and tear with the instruments always being exposed to the heat of the sun, extreme coldness, travelling, not to mention the unforeseen accidents. That is the reason why most professional players prefer their instruments made out of this composites.

Recently, a bass guitar named Celtic Bass was introduced with the use of this composite. The instrument was studied, designed, and manufactured over a period of two years. It possesses the quality of an orchestral double bass and the versatility of an electric bass guitar. However, since carbon composite was used, it weighs lighter for the comfort of the players.

Without compromising the quality of sound produced and even the resonant qualities, musical instruments made out or carbon fiber are believed to be virtually indestructible. They now become equated with high performance level. For example, when used with these fibers, a perfect cello can be created without adding any unnecessary components like cornices that just eat away the sound.

Guitars are also making its waves with the use of this composite. Blackbird Guitars for one, is a proud maker of guitars made of out graphite. They have specific designs to cater to the needs of their growing customers. Their rider steel string is made intentionally for those who travel a lot. You can never go wrong in choosing this guitar as your constant travel companion with its weight at only 2.7 pounds! It can stand amidst change of weather and humidity without compromising the richness of sound the guitar produces.

Indeed, carbon fiber is perfect for musical instrument making.

NEU! - Fur Immer

The epic Fur Immer (Forever) from the greatest Krautrock band. Their second album, Neu! 2, features some of the earliest examples of musical remixes. The band, excited to record another album, decided to expand their limits by purchasing several instruments. With the money they had left as an advance from the record company, they could only record half an album's worth of material. The company would not increase their advance because the first album did not sell anywhere close to well and the label did not see a reason to further finance what was most likely to become a flop. To rectify the lack of material, the band filled the second side with manipulated versions of their already released single, "Neuschnee"/"Super". The song "Super 16," unwittingly, became the theme song to the 1976 martial arts cult classic Master of the Flying Guillotine by Jimmy Wang Yu. This film was later referenced by Quentin Tarantino in Kill Bill (Volume 1) by also featuring the track Super 16.

How to Maintain a Guitar

Guitar Care Tips

Often times people who have musical instruments ignore maintenance of musical instruments. For example a guitar. We care for motorcycles, cars, computers and other items that we like. What about the guitar? Often we ignore it. Here are some tips about guitar maintenance that need attention by the owner.

Having a guitar case

We need a house for shelter as well as the guitar need a bag case. It aims to protect them from dirt or from the clashes that could damage the guitar. Indeed, some guitars often played not need to be given case, but if you're a guitarist who likes to hold concerts or if you frequently travel to bring the guitar, you must have a guitar case. There are two types of guitar case, hard and soft.

Hard Case

Hard-case usually made of wood or plastic / fiber that is strong enough and thick. This is very safe to protect the guitar. It's suitable to be owned by a guitarist who is often on tour and travel.

Soft Case

Soft-case is usually made of leather or thick cloth. Soft-case is lighter and easy to carry anywhere. Suitable for use when we are not very frequent traveler and for those who frequent the studio to practice. If you do not play guitar, you should always save them in case.

Gig-Bag

Gig-Bag is a combination of hard case and soft case. This case is more efficient, not too bothered when brought because the lining is thicker than soft case and easy to carry. If you do not want to be bothered to bring hard case, I recommend that you use the Gig-Bag is when you bring the guitar.

Clean Strings

At least once a week, wipe your strings. There is research that while playing the guitar, human sweat from his hands. This is because the brain works and hand gestures are enough to drain energy. It is rarely recognized by the guitarist. Use the original string, it can make the guitar sound to be better aligned with the standardization of quality guitars. Now try looking at your guitar. whether your guitar surface dirty? If you are not diligent in cleaning the strings, it also will arise rust on your strings. Rusty strings that will damage your guitar fret so that at some point you'll find some tones that you pick in your guitar sound is not perfect, because the strings touch the frets are eroded. Guitar strings can be cleaned by wipe with a lead pack of cigarettes that can remove rust on the strings (usually a good string will quickly rust). You can wet your guitar strings with string liquid cleaner (cleaning strings) available in music stores.

Put the Right Place

Putting the right guitar with the neck facing upwards. Usually, after playing the guitar people would put it on the position of the upper neck end affixed to the wall, while the guitar body at the bottom of the stick on the surface of the floor, so, the guitar is placed in a slanting position. This is really not good for the guitar because it will make a crooked neck slowly.

Good luck

Musical Instruments & Bankruptcy

Anyone can face sudden financial difficulties. Sudden life changes, such as serious accidents, can result in thousands of dollars in medical bills. Someone who had been in good financial health may find him or herself with unmanageable debt. If you are in a similar situation, bankruptcy may provide the most effective way to repay your debts and start again. Bankruptcy can mean selling some of your property to repay debts, a prospect that may sound unpleasant to those considering bankruptcy.

Musicians of all stripes, hobbyists and professional musicians alike, are prone to collecting pricey musical equipment. It is not rare for serious guitarists to spend thousands of dollars on new guitars, amplifiers, and related equipment. Filing for bankruptcy can help you out of dire financial situations, but it may be necessary to sell some, though perhaps not all, of that equipment in order to repay your debts.

There are a number of misconceptions about the bankruptcy process: rather than the court coming in and carrying out all of your possessions, you are in fact legally entitled to claim much of your property as exempt. Most of your household items can be kept exempt, as can some vehicles. Unless certain household items are extremely expensive, such as pricey Italian leather furniture, they are unlikely to be sold.

Under Massachusetts bankruptcy law, you can claim musical instruments and equipment as a component of your "household items," alongside things like furniture. Depending on what other property you are willing to sacrifice, you may be able to keep a significant portion of your gear. In addition, if you are a professional or semi-professional musician, you can claim a certain amount of equipment as necessary tools of the trade for your occupation.

Of course all of this depends on the particulars of your unique situation. Since bankruptcy can affect people of all backgrounds and walks of life, the assistance of an experienced bankruptcy attorney may be necessary to get the most out of your bankruptcy. With the right planning and guidance, you can clear your debt and start over.

5 Types of Orchestra Instruments

Orchestra instruments are the components of the massive symphonic sound that has created some of the most beautiful music ever written. Some of the world's most famous composers have used the various members that make up an orchestra to make sounds that have won the world over and used to recreate these pieces as well as create new modern pieces. Famous musicians like Yo-Yo Ma have made a name for themselves using instruments, like the cello, to create beautiful solo compositions as well. Whether alone or as part of a larger musical group, these instruments are some of the most diverse and enjoyable to play.

Cello. As mentioned above, many musicians have stood out as masters of this instrument. This very large instrument is similar to a violin, but have a very deep sound that is extremely powerful and loud. However, this instrument can also be very soft and sweet. Its great range of sound is extremely popular for this reason, and this instrument has a huge role in orchestras.

Violin. Probably the best-known orchestra instrument is also the most dominant in orchestras, a section is often composed of dozens of players. These instruments have a much higher tone than cellos, but the same expansive range. They are used for not only symphonic music, but also country, jazz, and nearly every other genre of music.

Trumpets. This brass instrument is the dominant sound in the brass section. Very loud and bright, these instruments often back up or contrast with the main theme played by the violins. Their music can be slow and melodic or rapid and jittery. Trumpets are used in a huge range of musical genres as well.

Clarinet. Another large section of the orchestra, this instrument is the dominant wind instrument. With a vibrating reed, this instrument has a mid-range sound that provides a warm bright sound, but not as dominate as the trumpet in tone. Also used in Jazz regularly, this instrument is popular for younger players and is much cheaper than violins and cellos.

Percussion. Not a single instrument necessarily, this section includes the standard percussions items - snares, bass drums, cymbals - as well as tympani drums and bells. This is the more difficult instruments to play and each one is used differently, or not at all, in a specific composition.

These are just some of the instruments that make up an orchestra. There are a many more instruments like tubas, bassoons, flutes, and loads more depending upon the needs of the musical piece.
